Hands On Atlanta Resource Hub
In partnership with Hands On Atlanta, this resource hub contains tools and templates to help support your organization’s volunteer program so that you can provide access to food that is convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable.
Here are some volunteer resources that will help partner agencies and volunteer managers access tools, information, networking connections, and best practices to build a strong volunteer program for engaging more volunteers and increasing food access for our neighbors.
Hands On Atlanta
Hands On Atlanta is an organization that specializes in mobilizing volunteers in partnership with nonprofits across the city. Check out their partnership options that provide support in volunteer recruitment, volunteer tracking, program resources, and consultation.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank partners with Hands On Atlanta to provide the following grant opportunities:
- Volunteer Support Grants: A cohort program that helps partners strengthen their volunteer recruitment and engagement practices.
- Program Consultation: A review and diagnosis of a partner’s volunteer program paired with custom recommendations towards a more engaging program.
Volunteer Match
VolunteerMatch is a nationwide online platform where nonprofit organizations can:
- Sign up for a membership and post volunteer opportunities easily with a system that has a lot of success with connecting volunteers to service opportunities along with other membership benefits.
- Access their free Learning Center that has a library full of best practice articles, webinars and resources.
Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta
Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta strengthens our community by engaging volunteer attorneys to provide nonprofits with business legal services. Check out their Learning Center for legal information about volunteer programs, waivers, having interns versus volunteers, and other necessary legal information when hosting volunteers onsite.
AL!VE
AL!VE, formerly known as Congress of Volunteer Administration Associations (COVAA) is a professional association of volunteer management leaders. Whether joining AL!VE’s paid membership or searching their free resource library, partners can access an abundance of information and mentorship.

- Trainings, webinars, conferences on volunteer management topics such as volunteer program standards, ethics and best practices, and diversity and inclusion

Local College Boards
Most colleges/universities use platforms to connect their students to local service opportunities. Reach out to the colleges/universities in your area to list your opportunities on their platform.
